MRA Swim Lessons take place in Manistee High School at the Paine Aquatics Center. Children ages 5-12 are welcome to sign up, and we will be opening up to younger ages in the near future. Children will be assessed on the first night of lessons so they can accurately be placed in a class based on their abilities in the water. Spaces for each session are limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Registration is IN OFFICE ONLY.
Blowfish / Flounder
The Blowfish level is an introductory level where the swimmer will gain comfort and confidence in and around the water with support.
The Flounder level requires that swimmers gain more independence and are able tot move below the water and above the water without assistance. It is likely that many swimmers may repeat this level.
Steelhead / Stingray
The Steelhead level works as a bridging class between flounder and stingray to help expand and prepare for skills learned in both levels.
In the Stingray level, swimmers will be independent of assistance gaining more confidence with deep water activities.
Piranha / Sturgeon
In the Piranha level, swimmers will demonstrate independence, endurance, and confidence with previously learned strokes and begin work on breaststroke and sidestroke.
Sturgeon swimmers will focus on stroke refinement and continue development of all strokes.
