Thank you for your interest in Manistee Soccer Club. Manistee Soccer Club (MSC) is nowaffiliated with the Manistee Recreation Association (MRA). MSC consists of “travel teams” thatcompete in the Great Lakes Coed Soccer League (www.glcsoccer.org) a recreational league inthe greater Muskegon area, sanctioned by the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association(www.msysa.net). Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and high-quality experience for ourparticipants that will allow them to continue to grow in the sport of soccer.The Manistee Soccer Club season runs over a six-week period. The first six weeks areregular season play with one game per week, generally played on Saturday. MSC will hostthree home games on Saturdays; the other three games are played away, somewhere betweenManistee and the Muskegon area.Fall only tournament play is a two weekend format. Weekend one, three playoff games areplayed Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Weekend two, those teams qualifying byplayoff record will compete in the Finals/Championships games.Regular season games start mid April for spring season and the first Saturday after LaborDay for fall season. Game schedules are created by the Great Lakes Coed Soccer League.They are made available about two weeks prior to regular season and tournament play.MSC encourages our soccer families to carpool to away games. Directions to the awaylocations are posted on the league website and available from your coach.The MSC is currently holding registration for the Spring season. Team placement is based on MSYSA age group eligibility guidelines and your child’s grade level. Team size is limited,and registration will be closed when current rosters are filled. No registration will be acceptedwithout payment of the $70.00 registration fee and the associated paperwork. Scholarships areavailable for all or part of the registration fee. Please contact the MRA office for more details. Acopy of your child’s birth certificate is required to register a new player ( a new player is a playerthat has not played a previous season with the MSC).
